Simple Blocks

Open-Ended Play Limitless Possibilities

The value of the collection lies not in telling children what to build, but in giving them a world of possibilities. With simple geometric forms, children can create countless spatial compositions of their own. Designed as an open system, Echoes of the East can be endlessly rebuilt, rearranged, and reimagined as children grow - from early stacking and balancing to storytelling, spatial exploration, and imaginative play.

FAQ

Common questions, answered.

What materials are used? Is it safe?

Our blocks are made from FSC® certified European beech wood, shaped from solid wood, finely sanded, and finished with a water-based coating.

They have passed SGS testing and meet major toy safety standards including EN71, ASTM F963, CPSIA, and REACH.

How should I choose between the three sets?

Choose based on your child’s current stage of play.

Little Pagoda is a simple starting point for stacking and early exploration.
Dream Garden is suited for children ready to build small spaces and scenes.
Ancient Town offers a richer world for storytelling, role play, and more complex building.

The three sets are not ranked by “better or higher level” — they offer different ways to enter the world of Echoes of the East.

Without instructions, will children know how to play?

Yes. The sets include simple building references, but they are not designed as one-answer model kits.

Children can start by stacking and copying simple forms, then gradually create their own buildings, landscapes, and stories. Parents can also join in by asking questions and building together.

Can different sets be combined?

Yes. All three sets share a consistent scale and visual language, so they can be freely combined.

Little Pagoda can become part of a larger Dream Garden or Ancient Town scene, while add-ons such as trees or mountains can enrich any set.

How should I clean and care for the blocks?

Wipe gently with a slightly damp cloth, then dry immediately.

Do not soak the blocks in water, expose them to strong sunlight for long periods, or store them in very humid environments. As a natural material, solid wood may show subtle changes over time, which is normal.

What is open-ended play?

Open-ended play means there is no single correct way to build.

A block can become a tower, a bridge, a house, or part of a story. Children are free to stack, test, rebuild, and imagine in their own way.

How is it different from LEGO or other building toys?

They offer different kinds of play.

Many interlocking toys focus on precise assembly and completing a model. echowooda is closer to open-ended wooden construction: children can build quickly, take things apart, and create a different scene each time.

The solid wood also gives a warmer tactile experience, while the softer colors make the blocks feel natural in the home.
